24th of July

Daddy and Penny watching the bulls.
Me and Tennis. My last night wearing glasses.

We were fortunate enough to go to the Spanish Fork Fiesta Days Rodeo on the 24th. It was so much fun. Tennis really loved it, thank heavens I didn't want to relive our first rodeo experience. Penny even stayed happy and interested the whole time. Tennis loved it most when they came out and roped the cows. The weather was perfect for it too. We even got a few drops of rain on us but with the heat it felt great!

Summer Days

It has been crazy busy recently. Chad has had school and work. He has been studying tons for his Trig class. I'm sure he'll pass fine but it has proved a bit harder to remember everything especially in the condensed time that he has to do it. Tennis is wearing big boy underwear now all but night time when he wears pull-ups. Penny rules this roost most definitely. She has really come into her own. She has started saying "What's that" but it sounds more like "Whas Ta". She is a funny little girl. As for me, well, I got Lasik eye surgery over the weekend and I still have a hard time remembering I don't have contacts and that I don't have to adjust my glasses. It is so nice. Another highlight is our garden. Not only are the tomato plants so full of tomatoes that most of them have started to topple but they are the size of softballs. Canning is definitely on the way.

I am going to start sewing a lot more and trying to sale things to help out. I already do binding for people which is easy and enjoyable for me but I decided I would start making baby quilts, raggedy Ann and Andy dolls, table toppers and other things. We'll see how it goes. But for now I am going to just crank up the sewing so that I can get a good stock pile of items. Who knows maybe I'll get enough stuff that I could do a booth at the Beehive Bazaar or something fun like that. Anyway here's to ambition!

Sad Kiddos

Both my kids have ear infections. Tennis always handles it wonderfully not letting it effect him to much but Penny isn't doing so well. She woke up several times last night and won't let me put her down or leave her alone for more than 5 seconds without braking down today. I hope this doesn't last to long especially because we have rodeo tickets for this Friday that I would rather not miss. I'll just keep Tylenol in her and hope she gets adequate sleep.

Our Garden

This is my second year with a vegetable garden. I love having a garden so much. This year we worked out a few kinks. I'm sure we have tons more to go but our garden is double the size it was last year. We have been picking peppers, squash, strawberries, onions, carrots, cilantro, a few peas and even a handful of tomatoes already. We have 13 tomatoe plants this year and they are all so heavily laden with tomatoes that I am surprised they stand. They are all turning white and some are starting to turn red too. I have over 200 tomatoes right now. Yeah for canning!!! Other than grasshoppers and snails I haven't had to many problems with bugs. We even have had a bunch of regrowth from last year. Pumpkin plants have come back and two cucumber plants. The pumpkin plants have tried taking over several spots but I have cut them back a few times. Anyway we are so happy to be able to have a garden while we rent and even more blessed for it to be doing so well. Grandma Faun I told you I would post pictures so here you go!

Early Birthday Surprises

My birthday is on the 20th, Monday, and I am turning 26. Yeah right? To be honest I haven't really cared to much to even think about it. As I am getting older the less attention on my birthday the better excluding a date night with Chad that is really all I wanted. But this past Thursday night my parents made a surprise visit at around 9pm. They were bringing me my birthday present early so I could enjoy it over the weekend. Yes I have already enjoyed it. They gave us a patio set for our back porch. I tried to find a picture of the same set but was unsuccessful. None the less it is perfect. The chairs even fold up so we can store it easier in the winter.

I got another early birthday present from Chad last night. I can't even begin to tell you how happy I am with it. He got me my very own Kitchenaid stand mixer. I have wanted one for several years now and was totally blown away and surprised by it. You know what a kitchenaid means? Lots and lots of cooking the next few weeks. :)

I also got to go and see the latest Harry Potter film last night with one of my best friends Jenna which was so fun. I think that they did a good job with the movie. Considering what they had to fit in from the book to make sure it made sense to those that haven't read the book I think it was awesome. But hey I love the Harry Potter series so regardless I am a little bit bias.

Needless to say my birthday has been so AWESOME this year and it hasn't even come yet. Thank you to all that have made it special already.

He's a big kid now!

TENNIS WENT POTTY IN HIS BIG BOY POTTY TODAY!!!!!
I couldn't be more proud of my little guy. He hasn't freaked out or anything when I make him sit on the potty for anywhere from 5-15 minutes. When he finally did it he was just as excited as I was. He said there you go when he did it then he said bye bye when we flushed the potty. He is so big.

4th of July weekend

The Tetons
Our first sighting of Bison. Tennis even said Bison as clear as day.
We stopped at a park to eat lunch and there were Geese everywhere. Tennis wanted to catch them so bad but feeding them small chunks of bun would have to do.
Downtown Jackson Hole
Coming up and over the peak there is an awesome lookout.
For the 4th of July we went up to Idaho to visit my grandparents and to drive through Yellowstone. It was a lot of fun and a lot of driving. We ended up getting there Thursday night and crashed at grandma and grandpa's. Friday we headed into Jackson Hole, Chad had never been there. It was a beautiful weekend. We saw loads of Bison, Elk and even saw two black bears run across the road right in front of us. We stayed at the cabin Friday night and then drove through the small loop in Yellowstone Saturday. We got to see even more Bison and Elk. Unfortunately we didn't get to see any bear or moose inside the park. It was fun none the less. We walked through West Yellowstone city for a little while after getting out of the park and got a few little souvenirs then headed home. I will post pictures as soon as the computer allows me to. There seems to be a little glitch this morning.
