He's a big kid now!

TENNIS WENT POTTY IN HIS BIG BOY POTTY TODAY!!!!!
I couldn't be more proud of my little guy. He hasn't freaked out or anything when I make him sit on the potty for anywhere from 5-15 minutes. When he finally did it he was just as excited as I was. He said there you go when he did it then he said bye bye when we flushed the potty. He is so big.

4th of July weekend

The Tetons
Our first sighting of Bison. Tennis even said Bison as clear as day.
We stopped at a park to eat lunch and there were Geese everywhere. Tennis wanted to catch them so bad but feeding them small chunks of bun would have to do.
Downtown Jackson Hole
Coming up and over the peak there is an awesome lookout.
For the 4th of July we went up to Idaho to visit my grandparents and to drive through Yellowstone. It was a lot of fun and a lot of driving. We ended up getting there Thursday night and crashed at grandma and grandpa's. Friday we headed into Jackson Hole, Chad had never been there. It was a beautiful weekend. We saw loads of Bison, Elk and even saw two black bears run across the road right in front of us. We stayed at the cabin Friday night and then drove through the small loop in Yellowstone Saturday. We got to see even more Bison and Elk. Unfortunately we didn't get to see any bear or moose inside the park. It was fun none the less. We walked through West Yellowstone city for a little while after getting out of the park and got a few little souvenirs then headed home. I will post pictures as soon as the computer allows me to. There seems to be a little glitch this morning.

Seeing through the mist

This week has been full of surprises. The biggest has been the loss of my grandpa Lee Dahl. He passed away peacefully in his bed Tuesday morning. I wasn't as close to him as I am my other grandpa but none the less he has always been a part of life. My grandmother is doing as well as she can when you loose your best friend. The funeral is Saturday and I am getting more and more sensitive as it gets closer. I know he is in a better place and that we will see him again. But sometimes things can feel so final.

The past few years grandpa has really softening up and taken on a sweeter disposition than he had when I was growing up. I always saw him as a strong, formidable rock in the family. He reminds me so much of my dad. Tall, broad, strong and masculine. But he was only human right?! None the less I loved him as any grandchild would love their grandpa and will miss having him around at family functions always hovering over grandma like a shield to any thing unpleasant. He loved her so much. They were a beautiful example of how a married couple should respect and love one another. I can only hope that me and Chad will be like that when we are their age.

I know he is still watching over us. So for now I would just like to say I love you Grandpa and I will miss your funny remarks, bear hugs, and you constantly telling me how beautiful I am in yours eyes whenever I am around you. You were always supportive of me and I couldn't have asked for a better grandpa. Till we meet again!

Our crazy little lives.

Mommy and Tennis at the Art City days Kid's Festival
Penny loves swings
She thought these were so fun.
Tennis couldn't help putting on his shades when he saw Penny putting on mine.

This past week started out with pretty much nothing on the schedule. Which I was more than happy about after my busy weekend. But each day has brought more and more challenges.

For starters Tennis isn't napping which makes him super edgy and prone to terrible tantrums. He normally lays down at 12 or 1 but he hasn't had one normal nap this week. He has fallen asleep i his high chair, on the couch and in his little chair when he hits the point of exhaustion when he can't fight it. But that doesn't last more than 20 minutes.

Penny might be coming down with something because she has been super tender the past few days and now isn't wanting to take her normal naps too. She is easy for the most part but when Tennis is tired and taunting her she gets on edge too and it puts them both out of sorts and super needy.

Chad is super duper busy with everything it seems. I am so proud of him for jumping in his calling as the 11 year old scout leader but seeing as the ward leaders don't really seem to be organized at all when it comes to scouts he has had to do it all himself. He is having his first camp out tonight and he is excited.

I did get all my visiting teaching done this week which feels good but other than that I feel like I haven't done anything productive this week. I guess the summertime is supposed to be like that especially when you have kids.
